Get more out of your assessments

By Stefan Heinis

Assessments offer an excellent opportunity to gain insight into employees' qualities and direct their professional development. But many organisations only use a fraction of the potential.

From individual to organisation

When multiple employees complete an assessment, for example a management team, the opportunity arises to analyse at group level. Where lies the collective strength? Where the shared vulnerability? Which competencies are strongly represented, and which are missing?

This overall report yields insights that reach further than the individual report. It becomes a mirror for the organisation.

More targeted development

Group insights are particularly valuable when designing development programmes. A leadership programme based on real assessment data is more effective than an off-the-shelf programme. Participants have clear goals at both an individual and a collective level.

Smarter selection

In recruitment, aggregation also delivers value. When you combine assessment data across multiple selection processes, patterns become visible. Perhaps new employees consistently score low on a particular competency. That is not a candidate problem, it is information about your selection profile, your interview process or your onboarding.

The recommendation

Move beyond the individual report. Use assessments as a strategic instrument:

  • Combine individual outcomes into a team picture
  • Analyse patterns across multiple assessments
  • Translate insights into targeted development interventions
  • Evaluate whether your selection profile still fits what the organisation needs

At AVOP we help organisations lift their assessment practice to a higher level. From individual report to organisational insight.
