Who
My name is Sabien Faber and I work as an adviser and (career) coach at AVOP. After studying MSc Applied Psychology and Coaching Psychology at the University of East London, I worked in London for several years where I gained experience as a career coach/trainer in higher education and at a local authority. As a coach, I am described as warm, curious and challenging. I believe it is important to create a safe, supportive and dynamic environment where you can be yourself. A space where discovery, experimentation and reflection are encouraged. I am motivated by helping people bring out the best in themselves and achieve meaningful goals. In my sessions, I invite you to adopt a growth mindset, challenge yourself and work together to address your coaching topic.
Coaching topics
You can come to me for challenges related to (career) coaching, personal development and competency development. Guiding young professionals into leadership positions suits me well. Additionally, I enjoy facilitating outplacement processes, where I take a detailed, step-by-step based process to help you work towards the next step in your career.
Working method
Building a warm and trusting dynamic is a foundation for a positive and successful collaboration in my coaching sessions. My coaching style is characterised by positive psychology and a solution-focused approach with attention to vitality, perseverance, self-confidence and personal development. I work purposefully with you, paying close attention to you as a person: what drives you, how you want to develop yourself and where do your strengths and weaknesses lie. We look at your environment and what you need to bring out the best in yourself. We delve into factors that enhance your "flow" and "drive": where do you draw your energy from and how can you leverage this effectively? Where appropriate I use creative techniques, as they can be a powerful method to enhance awareness and explore deeper layers. My sessions are varied and challenging, where I encourage you to map out your learning moments throughout the coaching process and celebrate your successes. You are in charge while I think along with you and provide concrete tools to further stimulate your development. I also like to incorporate Ikigai into my coaching—a Japanese concept that focuses on meaning, deeper layers of experience and awareness.
