Sebastiaan is consultant with AVOP. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology and a master’s degree in Organisational Psychology, specialising in Positive Psychology. During a reorganisation at different levels within the municipality of Amsterdam, he has acquired insight into the resistance that converges with organisational change. He has collaborated in the implementation of a culture change, and has been a witness of the tremendous amount of energy that organisational change requires, of the complexity of the processes, and of its effect on employees. Stemming from Positive Psychology, his affinity lies in developing and making the potential of individuals visible, and this is where, currently, his predominant specialisation focus within AVOP lies.
He executes (development) assessments and coaches individuals, both privately and in their career. In doing so, his sportsmanship urges him to seek the best possible results with maximum impact. He does this by looking at the personal themes below the waterline, and in doing so he has a holistic vision, but remains solidly grounded, nonetheless. He focuses on the essence of creating more congruence between what a person does and what ultimately makes him or her happy. He feels that, in this way, performing better goes hand in hand with increased pleasure and satisfaction.
